What is Wheel Truing?
Wheel truing is the process of adjusting spoke tension to bring a wheel back into perfect lateral and radial alignment. Wheels go out of true through impacts, hard cornering, worn spokes, or simply hours of use. A badly buckled wheel rubs on your brake pads, affects handling, and puts uneven stress on the rim and spokes. We use a professional truing stand to tension each spoke individually until the wheel runs true.
Signs You Need It
- !Wheel visibly wobbles side-to-side when spinning
- !Brake pads rub intermittently on one side of the rim
- !Bike pulls to one side on descents
- !You heard or felt a hard impact — pothole, kerb drop, or crash
- !Spokes feel slack or uneven when you squeeze pairs together
What's Included
- Full wheel inspection — rim, spokes, and spoke nipples
- Lateral (side-to-side) truing on a professional truing stand
- Radial (up-and-down) truing where needed
- Spoke tension equalised across the wheel
- Rim checked for cracks or damage and flagged if found
- Final spin-check — rim runs to within 0.5mm before leaving the stand
