What is Brake Service?
A brake service keeps your stopping power sharp and consistent. For hydraulic disc brakes — the most common system on modern road, gravel, and MTB bikes — this means a full fluid bleed: removing moisture-contaminated fluid and air from the lever and caliper so the lever is firm and responsive from the first finger of pressure. Over time, hydraulic fluid absorbs moisture from the air, which lowers its boiling point and introduces compressibility — the cause of that soft, vague lever feel. For mechanical disc and rim brakes, a service means cable tension, housing condition, pad alignment, and reach all set correctly. Both systems require periodic attention to stay safe.

What's Included
- Lever and caliper inspection — seals, pistons, and reservoir
- Hydraulic systems: full system bleed with correct fluid (mineral oil or DOT)
- Air purged from both lever and caliper — firm bite point from the start
- Mechanical systems: cable tension adjusted, housing inspected and replaced if cracked
- Pad alignment set — caliper centred, equal pad-to-rotor gap both sides
- Rotor and rim checked for wear, scoring, and contamination
- Bite point set to your preference before handover
